Over 150 Senior Citizens attended the annual 'Young at Heart' day on Thursday 20 September. The event was hosted at Parklands Leisure centre and was organised by members of the Senior Citizens Action Group and council officers.
There were many stands at the event, providing information about charities and services available in the borough and wider afield.
During the morning, there was also many physical activities for the seniors to get involved in, including Walking, Nordic Walking, Laughter Yoga, Back Care, Zumba Gold, New Age Kurling, Nintendo Wii games, Short Mat Bowls and a brand new game - Table Cricket, which proved very popular. Other activities included the popular flower arranging, glass painting and card making workshops, which took place at Brocks Hill.
During the afternoon, all involved in the day enjoyed a lunch followed by the customary bingo session and an afternoon of entertainment by a local drama group, followed by a comedian.
The active together team would like to thank and congratulate the organisers for letting us be a part of the highly sucessful and enjoyable event.
