Bushloe bat their way to victory

Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games Super-Series Finals – Rounders – Year 9 Mixed

New to the 2012/13 School Games programme, the Year 9 Mixed Rounders Super-Series Final saw 6 teams bat it out for the title of School Games Champions, supported by Rounders England.

Bushloe High School, Loughborough High/Grammar School, Crown Hills Community College, English Martyrs School, Brookvale High School and Judgemeadow Community College battled it out in the fast paced Final.

In the end Bushloe High School (Oadby & Wigston) took home the victory trophy, with Loughborough High/Grammar School picking up the silver medal, and Crown Hills Community College (East Leicester) claiming the bronze.

The 'Spirit of the Games' was awarded to Brookvale High School (Hinckley & Bosworth) as they fully demonstrated the values in which the "School Games" represents. They showed great respect for the other teams and worked together around the trick course to ensure their team performed to their maximum potential.

The Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games is part of the national 'Sainsbury's School Games' programme of competitive sport that is open to all young people in every school from across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland. It is a celebration of competitive sport that involves young people aged 5-18 years, of all abilities and backgrounds.

The 10 School Sport & Physical Activity Networks within Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland compete at Intra-School (Level 1) and Inter-School (Level 2), to select a winning Team to represent their Partnership area at the Super-Series Finals or Spring/Summer Championships (Level 3).

All Primary and Secondary Schools across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland can get involved in the Schools Games, through the help of their PE departments and School Games Organisers (SGOs).
