It's almost time for the Active Lunch Challenge!

With little over two weeks before the Active Lunch Challenge begins, are you ready for you to transform your lunch break – 10 minutes at a time?

The Workplace Challenge campaign is challenging workplaces to get signed up and notice the difference with as little as 10 minutes of physical activity during lunch breaks. Whether that be something as strenuous as a gym session or as light as a game of catch, the Challenge is aimed at getting as many people involved as possible.

Coming fresh after the New Year, the Active Lunch Challenge is the perfect way to make sure those resolutions are carried through for a prolonged period of time. And with the activities ranging in difficulty, you get to go at your own pace, with the support of colleagues.

Working with a range of local companies, Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport also have another round of hugely enjoyable Workplace Challenge events coming up in 2017. With Quidditch on the cards, there is the chance to work your magic at something completely fresh!

Jo Spokes, Sports Development Manager for Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport said: "It's so important that more people introduce physical activity into and around their working day, but the perception for many is that it's just too difficult achieve.

"In fact, small steps can make a real difference. We want local people to get away from their desks, get off the shop floor and get out of the factory – it doesn't matter what they do, the most important thing is that they take steps to change their normal routine over the next eight weeks by introducing some form of physical activity."

The LRS team have also banded together to demonstrate how easy it can be to stay active for a short amount of time. Our latest WPC YouTube video is available here:
