Mind Launch New Mental Health and Physical Activity Toolkit

Mind have worked with people with lived experience of mental health problems, representatives from the mental health sector and the sport and physical activity workforce. Co-production has been essential to create content that is relevant for sport, physical activity and mental health providers and ensures their work meets the needs of people experiencing mental health problems.

The Toolkit consists of 10 guides:

  • Guide 1: Introduction to mental health
  • Guide 2: The relationship between physical activity and mental health
  • Guide 3: Involving people with lived experience of mental health problems in the design and delivery of your work
  • Guide 4: Making physical activities inclusive to people experiencing mental health problems
  • Guide 5: Engaging people in physical activity to support their mental health
  • Guide 6: Engaging volunteers in a physical activity and mental health service
  • Guide 7: Measuring the impact of a physical activity and mental health service
  • Guide 8: Legal considerations around delivering physical activities for people experiencing mental health problems
  • Guide 9: Safeguarding and mental health
  • Guide 10: Funding and sustainability

Each one provides guidance, tools, templates and good practice case studies to help organisations provide an inclusive and welcoming environment for people experiencing mental health problems to be physically active.
