Oadby and Wigston 2018 Awards Evening Photos

Another fantastic evening took place at the 8th annual Oadby and Wigston Awards Evening (Wednesday, 21st November). With 200+ guests and 12 awards handed out to the exciting prospects of the Borough. The proceedings were commenced by the Mayor of Oadby and Wigston, Cllr David Carter, who spoke of the inspiring talent that we have in our community.

The exuberant compère for the evening, Gaynor Nash introduced several esteemed guests for the evening, including welsh international, Tommy Reffel of the Leicester Tigers.

Community Awards

This year, Oadby and Wigston Borough Council invited businesses within Oadby, Wigston and South Wigston to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1, by dressing their shop windows.

Following the conclusion of the awards, the winners of the raffle – kindly provided by Everyone Active – were announced, with prizes including Everyone Active Gym Bag and Rucksack, and free memberships.

Finally, closing words and an excellent summary of the night's celebrations were provided by the Leader of Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, Cllr John Boyce.
